The State of the Grid and Required Innovation to Connect Solar Projects
Time: 15:30 - 16:15
Date: 27th November 2024
Synopsis
As the number of installations increase, grid capacity and networks’ ability to process applications will be tested. This session will explore the work different regional networks are doing to accommodate new solar and storage. What collaboration is needed at a policy level, with TSOs and DSOs, and with generators to enable a system to balance. This panel will examine solar PV, energy storage and the role that effective policy can have in enabling us to achieve our 2030 decarbonisation goals and installed PV targets.Â
- How can developers achieve early engagement with permitting authorities and grid operators?Â
- Exploring innovative solutions like co-locating solar with storage or microgridsÂ
- Overcoming delays in grid connection studies and approvals from grid operators to expedite CEE grid connectionsÂ
- Grid modernization investments and exploring alternative connection pointsÂ
